UUBO Private Equity Summit: ‘Drivers, Disruptors & Unlocking Value’
It is our pleasure to invite you, on behalf of our partners, to Udo Udoma & Belo Osagie’s 2nd Private Equity Summit and Fund Raising and Deal Academy, which is scheduled to take place on January 30 and 31, 2020 respectively with the theme “Drivers, Disruptors and Unlocking Value”. These invitation-only events are the latest offerings from the Firm’s 2020 Learning and Engagement Series focusing on topical issues across our various areas of specialisation.
We are pleased to have received firm confirmations of participation as keynote speakers from both the Honourable Minister for Finance, Zainab Ahmed and the Honourable Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo. Other confirmed special guests include Ms. Mary Uduk (acting Director-General, Securities and Exchange Commission) and Ms. Yewande Sadiku (Executive Secretary, Nigerian Investment Promotions Commission) and other key stakeholders.
The Private Equity Summit, which will hold on January 31, is designed to provide a content-rich, sector-agnostic and highly interactive learning forum for informative discussion and open engagement involving experienced local and international stakeholders, advisers and other participants in the dynamic Nigerian markets. The programme for the Summit will also include panel sessions and presentations by other industry experts. All participants will be invited to candidly discuss strategic and tactical concerns and to share insights and lessons learned in addressing challenges and exploiting current funding and investment opportunities in Nigeria.
Our inaugural summit held in January 2018 attracted over 400 guests and featured Senator Udoma Udo Udoma (then Minister for Budget and National Planning) and Dr. Okechukwu Enelamah as keynote speakers. Other speakers and participants included Ms. Mary Uduk (Securities and Exchange Commission); Ms Yewande Sadiku (Nigerian Investment Promotions Commission); Mrs Eme Essien Lore (Country Director, international Finance Commission); Mark Kenderdine-Davies (CDC Group Plc UK); as well as several representatives from international and local institutions and corporates including the Dubai Financial Investment Centre, and several chief executives of banks, financial institutions, pension fund managers.
We have scheduled our second iteration of the Academy for the day before the Summit in conjunction with Deloitte. It promises a great faculty that will include some of the most experienced funds, fund managers, African and international tax and legal advisers with practical experience in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. The Academy aims to provide informative, practical and free training for interested regulators, SMEs, trustees, funds, fund managers, financiers, external and in-house counsel, investee companies and organisations on topical legal issues that are specific to Nigeria.
We very much look forward to hosting a similarly vibrant and interactive audience at the Summit, and at the Academy on the preceding day in partnership with Deloitte.
Please confirm your participation and your team members’ at PES2020@uubo.org.
