Dr. Dotun Olowoporoku is Managing Partner and General Partner at Ventures Platform, a leading early-stage venture capital firm in Africa. With a diverse background spanning entrepreneurship, C-level operations, and investment roles, he brings deep insights into both founding startups and scaling them post-Series B. Prior to joining Ventures Platform, Dotun played principal roles at Pan‑African VC firms including Novastar Ventures and later transitioned to support founders and portfolio companies across governance, international expansion, M&A, and fundraising.

Since his appointment following the launch of Ventures Platform’s $40 million fund, he has been instrumental in shaping and executing investment strategy across their portfolio. Dotun regularly participates in industry thought leadership, recently serving as a panelist at the TMT Business Series where he provided clarity on building infrastructure for digital innovation in Nigeria. His guidance blends strategic rigor with founder empathy—rooted in his firsthand experience as a former entrepreneur and investor.

Dr. Dotun holds a PhD and combines academic rigour with practical expertise in venture backing and startup growth. He is an influential voice across African VC circles through writings and speaking engagements, and serves on boards such as Termii.
